Jewar International Airport in Greater Noida is a much awaited project for the entire National Capital Region (NCR). Over the years, it has gone through several regulatory approvals, jumping through hoops one by one.
Recently, the Jewar Airport project was revived by UP CM Yogi Adityanath. He gave it a green signal and instructed concerned officials to accelerate the process of getting approvals so that the construction work can start at the earliest. In July 2016, the Union government had sought an Obstacle Limitation Survey (OLS) of the airport site at Jewar from the state government. But the state is yet to send that report to the civil aviation ministry. CM also directed the officials to coordinate with civil aviation ministry soon.
The international airport is welcomed by the residents of Greater Noida region as well as the real estate players. An international airport completely revives the cityscape as new connectivity features start coming up in and around it, several companies set up their base near the location and economy flourishes. Gurgaon is the perfect example of how proximity to the airport can develop the location.
Real estate scenario in Noida and Greater Noida will improve with the coming of international airport. There will be residential, commercial, industrial and institutional growth. The area will be seen as a logistics hub and demand will spurt. Positive sentiments will be formed among property buyers.
Once the plan becomes a reality, areas around the Yamuna Expressway will grow by leaps and bounds.
