Navi Mumbai is a planned township of Mumbai on the west coast of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was developed in 1971 as an urban township of Mumbai by the government of Maharashtra and CIDCO. Navi Mumbai is located in the eastern Trans harbour of Mumbai is one of the largest planned townships of the world. Navi Mumbai was planned to decongest the island city of Mumbai which has a limited growth. Real Estate in Mumbai is also becoming saturated, lately.
Recently in August 2015, Navi Mumbai has been ranked third amongst 476 cities for PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Navi Mumbai covers southern part of Thane taluka and part of Panvel and Uran taluka. Commuting is easy as it is well connected to main Mumbai and easily accessible by road and rail. The latest development known as ‘One Time Planning’ with a high budget is underway to transform it and soon Navi Mumbai will be at par with the Mega cities of the world.
Infrastructure- Basic infrastructure worth billions is already in place. It has a regularized source of electric supply. It has excellent motoring conditions with a lot of flyovers, broad roads and ample parking space. A hovercraft service will soon be launched by CIDCO, from Vashi to Gateway of India. All civic amenities are also available.
Transport System- Mumbai suburban railway covers the most populated areas of the city. The most important stations are Nerul, Vashi, Belapur and Panvel. Panvel is the busiest as it is a mainline station. BEST and NMMT buses ply between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The 10kms Palm Beach Road connecting Vashi to CBD Belapur runs along the creek and is a twin Marine Drive. This is a six way lane. Navi Mumbai is the largest container port of India. An International Airport is also being built here.
Services- There are various utility services, banks, restaurants, shopping malls and multiplexes. Vashi has a lot of prominent malls. Educational institutes and schools are of good standards and cater to all kinds of aspirants. Navi Mumbai has a lot of potential for sport lovers; there is the famous cricket stadium D. Patil stadium and also a sports stadium for the upcoming sportsman.
Navi Mumbai [South] is fast developing on the international lines as far as realty and infrastructure is concerned. It is a place fast developing to become a mega city to surpass all other cities and hence an ideal place to invest or live in.
