The Uttar Pradesh State Government gave nod for the Jewar airport bid document prepared by Price water house Coopers [PwC]. The proposal will now be sent to Union civil aviation ministry for clearance officials said. The ministry is expected to send clearances for the same by the December-end. After which, the project will have an open international bidding for the tendering process.
NAIL, i.e. the Noida International Airport Company Limited will be responsible for the bidding process. This is a company formed by the Yogi Aditynath-led Uttar Pradesh State Government in August 2018 to get the Jewar International Airport project rolling. The company NIAL recently formed a core team of 10-members that include officials from YEIDA for the handling of airport-related work.
Arun Veer Singh, CEO of Yamuna Authority, said that we have received the Government orders of sanctioned bid document on Jewar airport and this was received soon after the Uttar Pradesh State Government gave its nod for the same. The concessionaire document will now be sent to the ministry of civil aviation for final clearance and the sanction of the same is expected this month only.
CM Yogi Adityanath took the decision to open global bidding in the recently held meeting. The proposal will be placed for global biding of 36 participant countries of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) that include several Indian contenders also.
The countries like United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan and Korea are some of the world nations that are the part of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
YEIDA [Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority] recently formed a 10-member committee that will work under NAIL to carry out the airport project and work related to the same.
Earlier in October 2018, Arun Veer Singh, CEO of Yamuna Authority also got the additional charge as CEO of NIAL and he is the key facilitator of the Jewar airport project on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh State Government.
On the other hand, Anup Chandra Pandey, UP chief secretary is holding the Chairmanship of NIAL.
