Navi Mumbai is a planned township of Mumbai on the west coast of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was developed in 1971 as an urban township of Mumbai by the government of Maharashtra and CIDCO. Navi Mumbai is located in the eastern Trans harbour of Mumbai is one of the largest planned townships of the world. Navi Mumbai was planned to decongest the island city of Mumbai which has a limited growth. Real Estate in Mumbai is also becoming saturated, lately.
Recently in August 2015, Navi Mumbai has been ranked third amongst 476 cities for PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Navi Mumbai covers southern part of Thane taluka and part of Panvel and Uran taluka. It was earlier developed by CIDCO and totally controlled by them now it has its own Corporation one of the richest in India. Commuting is easy as it is well connected to main Mumbai and easily accessible by road and rail.
