Foundation stone of Jewar airport to be laid before Diwali: Officials

In a recently held meeting between the state government officials, it has been decided that the foundation-laying ceremony of the project would be performed before Diwali this year and both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the ceremony.

Giving more details about the foundation ceremony, state govt officials said, “The airport project received in-principle approval from the Centre on April 23. The foundation-laying ceremony is likely to be performed towards October-end as Diwali falls in the first week of November.”

Jewar Airport to serve 31 international destinations by 2050: PwC report

In a latest report by PwC, the agency which prepared the techno-economic feasibility report for the Greenfield Noida International airport has projected that by 2050, the airport can serve 37 domestic and 31 international destinations.

The report said that the passengers can take flights from the airport to international destinations such as London, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Katmandu, and Bangkok apart from flying to key domestic destinations.

PwC submits draft of techno-economic feasibility report to YEIDA

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the consultants to the proposed International airport at Jewar has submitted a draft of the of techno-economic feasibility report to the Yamuna Authority on Friday. As per the officials, this report will help them in getting in-principle approvals for this highly ambitious project. However the final report will be submitted by March end.

The draft report will be now be studied by YEIDA officials after that if required they will give further suggestions to the agency. The whole report is divided into nine chapters which include trends in the aviation sector, traffic estimation, regional connectivity scheme, cargo potential, non-aeronautical revenue, capex profiling, operating expenditure, financial assessment and environmental social impact.

Jewar Airport to cater 80 million passengers by 2022: PWC Report

Renowned audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) who won the bid to prepare the techno-economic feasibility (TFR) study of Jewar Airport has projected that the proposed airport is all set to cater 80 million passengers once it will get operational by 2022-23.

The agency has also projected that the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) will reach its saturation point with a 100-million passenger count by 2024-25, which will give rise to the need for a second airport in NCR and hence the airport at Jewar would accomplish the need. By 2050, both Delhi and Jewar airport will cater to over 300 million passengers annually.
