UP Cabinet approves Jewar Airport bid Document

The Uttar Pradesh State Government gave nod for the Jewar airport bid document prepared by Price water house Coopers [PwC]. The proposal will now be sent to Union civil aviation ministry for clearance officials said. The ministry is expected to send clearances for the same by the December-end. After which, the project will have an open international bidding for the tendering process.

NAIL, i.e. the Noida International Airport Company Limited will be responsible for the bidding process. This is a company formed by the Yogi Aditynath-led Uttar Pradesh State Government in August 2018 to get the Jewar International Airport project rolling. The company NIAL recently formed a core team of 10-members that include officials from YEIDA for the handling of airport-related work.

Jewar International airport will be ready in 3 years: UP CM Yogi Adityanath

In a recently held conclave in the national capital, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Aditynath assured that the International Airport at Jewar would be ready within next three years. On Saturday, the CM participated in the India Idea Conclave 2018 in Delhi where he also announced that the Ground-breaking ceremony for Jewar airport will be performed by year end.

Speaking during the conclave, CM Adityanath said, “By the end of December we will get the PM to perform the shilanyas at the site of the international airport at Jewar and within three years we will be able to provide good service to NCR areas.”

Jewar Airport: PwC submits bid document for the project

In a recent development, Price Waterhouse Cooper (PwC), the consultant appointed to prepare the techno-feasibility report of Jewar Airport has submitted the concessionaire agreement to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday.

According to senior officials, YEIDA will now study the agreement and its legalities for a week and then will send the document to the state civil aviation department for the approval from the project monitoring and implementation committee. It is said that the process will take about a month’s time.

Jewar airport: Land acquisition process expected to start by October-end

After receiving the consent of more than 70% farmers for the land acquisition of Jewar Airport, the Gautam Budh Nagar administration is now working on the proposal for the same of the proposed Jewar international airport project which will be prepared by this week. According to the authority officials, the UP government is expected to start the acquisition process by the end of October.

UP Government approves impact study of Jewar Airport

In a recent meeting, the UP Government has given its approval on the social impact assessment (SIA) report that encompasses the details of the land identified for the development of Jewar Airport. The meeting took place few days back in Lucknow in the presence of UP chief secretary Anup Chandra Pandey, members of Noida International Airport Limited, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) India and other UP government officials.

During the meeting, PwC gave a presentation about the concession agreement draft to the chief secretary. After the meeting, a senior UP Govt official said, “The UP government will first approve the SIA report in the cabinet, and then issue a notification to make way for land acquisition,”

UP Govt Signals ‘Go Ahead’ on Formation of Joint Venture Company for Jewar Airport

The Council of Ministers in UP cabinet gave the approval to float a joint venture company for the construction of Jewar airport which is proposed to be constructed in Jewar near Bulandshahr city.

This thumbs-up from the Uttar Pradesh cabinet is believed to be the final go-ahead in the entire subject matter. According to the Officials, the Joint Venture Company named Noida International Airport Limited is formed with the inclusion of three civic authorities that are Noida Authority, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority [GNIDA] and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority [YEIDA]. The UP State Government also holds stake in this Joint Venture Company apart from these authorities.

Jewar Airport: UP Government to spend Rs 4,000 crore on land acquisition

The Uttar Pradesh Government in a recent meeting said that Rs 4,000 crore will be spent towards land acquisition for the Noida international Greenfield airport at Jewar. The meeting which took place on Wednesday was attended by officials of state civil aviation department, and Noida, Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

After the meeting, a statement was released by the state government officials, which said, “Out of Rs 4000 crore, Rs 1500 crore will be made available by budget allocated to state civil aviation department, while another Rs 1500 crore will be provided by Noida.  An amount of Rs 500 crore each shall be shared by Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) respectively.”

Foundation stone of Jewar airport to be laid before Diwali: Officials

In a recently held meeting between the state government officials, it has been decided that the foundation-laying ceremony of the project would be performed before Diwali this year and both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the ceremony.

Giving more details about the foundation ceremony, state govt officials said, “The airport project received in-principle approval from the Centre on April 23. The foundation-laying ceremony is likely to be performed towards October-end as Diwali falls in the first week of November.”

Jewar Airport to serve 31 international destinations by 2050: PwC report

In a latest report by PwC, the agency which prepared the techno-economic feasibility report for the Greenfield Noida International airport has projected that by 2050, the airport can serve 37 domestic and 31 international destinations.

The report said that the passengers can take flights from the airport to international destinations such as London, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Katmandu, and Bangkok apart from flying to key domestic destinations.

PwC submits draft of techno-economic feasibility report to YEIDA

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the consultants to the proposed International airport at Jewar has submitted a draft of the of techno-economic feasibility report to the Yamuna Authority on Friday. As per the officials, this report will help them in getting in-principle approvals for this highly ambitious project. However the final report will be submitted by March end.

The draft report will be now be studied by YEIDA officials after that if required they will give further suggestions to the agency. The whole report is divided into nine chapters which include trends in the aviation sector, traffic estimation, regional connectivity scheme, cargo potential, non-aeronautical revenue, capex profiling, operating expenditure, financial assessment and environmental social impact.
