UP Government likely to complete land acquisition process for Jewar Airport in 2 months

In a recent announcement, Civil Aviation Ministry said that the Uttar Pradesh Government is likely to complete the land acquisition process for Jewar Airport in next 2 months. Speaking to the reporters, Civil Aviation Secretary R N Choubey, said, “The Uttar Pradesh government has assured that the process of getting land will be completed in two months’ time and that the bids for PPP (Public Private Partnership) will be invited in October.”

UP Govt Signals ‘Go Ahead’ on Formation of Joint Venture Company for Jewar Airport

The Council of Ministers in UP cabinet gave the approval to float a joint venture company for the construction of Jewar airport which is proposed to be constructed in Jewar near Bulandshahr city.

This thumbs-up from the Uttar Pradesh cabinet is believed to be the final go-ahead in the entire subject matter. According to the Officials, the Joint Venture Company named Noida International Airport Limited is formed with the inclusion of three civic authorities that are Noida Authority, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority [GNIDA] and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority [YEIDA]. The UP State Government also holds stake in this Joint Venture Company apart from these authorities.

Jewar Airport: UP Government to spend Rs 4,000 crore on land acquisition

The Uttar Pradesh Government in a recent meeting said that Rs 4,000 crore will be spent towards land acquisition for the Noida international Greenfield airport at Jewar. The meeting which took place on Wednesday was attended by officials of state civil aviation department, and Noida, Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

After the meeting, a statement was released by the state government officials, which said, “Out of Rs 4000 crore, Rs 1500 crore will be made available by budget allocated to state civil aviation department, while another Rs 1500 crore will be provided by Noida.  An amount of Rs 500 crore each shall be shared by Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) respectively.”

Jewar Airport: UP Govt signs MoU to kick-start Land acquisition process

In order to kick-start the process of land acquisition for the Jewar Airport, the UP Government has signed a MoU with Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Noida and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authorities on Tuesday. The pact will also help in speeding up the work of the ambitious Greenfield Noida International Airport.

Along with the senior officials of all the three authorities, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttar Pradesh Civil Aviation Minister Nand Gopal Gupta were also present during the signing of MoU.

Foundation stone of Jewar airport to be laid before Diwali: Officials

In a recently held meeting between the state government officials, it has been decided that the foundation-laying ceremony of the project would be performed before Diwali this year and both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the ceremony.

Giving more details about the foundation ceremony, state govt officials said, “The airport project received in-principle approval from the Centre on April 23. The foundation-laying ceremony is likely to be performed towards October-end as Diwali falls in the first week of November.”

Center gave In-Principle nod to Jewar Airport

In order to speed up the work of the much awaited Jewar airport, Ministry of Civil aviation finally gave its In- Principle nod to construct the Greenfield Noida International airport. To oversee timely development of the airport, the center has set up a Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee so that YEIDA can initiate the procedure of Land Acquisition.

Prabhat Kumar, Chairman, YEIDA, posted this information on Twitter and wrote, “Happy to inform that Steering Committee headed by Secretary Civil Aviation, GOI today in its meeting considered proposal for In-Principle approval of Jewar Airport and have granted In- Principle approval. Jewar Airport to serve 31 international destinations by 2050: PwC report

In a latest report by PwC, the agency which prepared the techno-economic feasibility report for the Greenfield Noida International airport has projected that by 2050, the airport can serve 37 domestic and 31 international destinations.

The report said that the passengers can take flights from the airport to international destinations such as London, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Katmandu, and Bangkok apart from flying to key domestic destinations.

Jewar airport: UP Govt planning to lay foundation stone by October 2018

In a meeting which took place between Civil Aviation Ministry and stakeholders to review the progress of Greenfield international airport at Jewar, it was said that UP state government is planning to lay the foundation stone of phase 1 of the project by October 2018.

PwC submits draft of techno-economic feasibility report to YEIDA

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the consultants to the proposed International airport at Jewar has submitted a draft of the of techno-economic feasibility report to the Yamuna Authority on Friday. As per the officials, this report will help them in getting in-principle approvals for this highly ambitious project. However the final report will be submitted by March end.

The draft report will be now be studied by YEIDA officials after that if required they will give further suggestions to the agency. The whole report is divided into nine chapters which include trends in the aviation sector, traffic estimation, regional connectivity scheme, cargo potential, non-aeronautical revenue, capex profiling, operating expenditure, financial assessment and environmental social impact.

“Company will find ways to link Delhi and Jewar airports”: YEIDA officials

In order to make a smooth coordination between the Delhi and Jewar airport, the YEIDA officials has recently finalised to appoint a firm to study ways to connect the two airports.
