The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) recently revealed that since the announcement of Jewar Airport, investment has received a major boost in and around the Yamuna Expressway areas.
The pace has increased much after the launch of the bidding process. Of them, most are in the industrial segment while others are in the residential category. The authority disclosed that in the last one year projects worth more than Rs 11,000 crore has been allotted.
Elaborating more on the above development, an officer on special duty, YEIDA, Shailendra Bhatia said, “The authority has given its nod to set up 255 industrial units in approximately 450 acres of area. These units will be of food, electronic manufacturing, medical and surgical equipment, automobile parts, steel fabrication, mobile manufacturing, and packaging, etc.”
He further informed that out of the 255 units, YEIDA has already issued allotment to 169 units to be developed on 87 acres of area. These units are investing Rs 787.69 crores. Apart from this, VIVO mobiles have started construction of their manufacturing units in 170 acres of area with an investment of Rs 5200 crores.
In order to streamline the whole allotment process, the authority has also launched a single-window system so that investors can apply and see the result on the same platform only. This is another reason that is attracting investors.
“Lease deeds for three other industries worth Rs 550 crore of investment have been executed recently. Moreover, YEIDA has also received registration money for a proposed garment cluster of 82 industrial units. The allotment will be given to these units soon.” Bhatia added.
He also disclosed that recently the authority has given its nod for the development of an International medical research and trauma centre in the YEIDA area. This center will be developed by a US firm in Sector-22E.
Talking about airport development, the authority has already selected 14 Indian and Global bidders who have shown their interest to develop the airport. These bidders are invited for a pre-bidding conference which will be taking place in Greater Noida on July 15. During this conference, the issues and queries of bidder related to the development of the airport will be answered by the authority officials.
