Choose the Perfect Room- Meditation is all about getting rid of negative thoughts and filling your day with all the positivity. The best room for this would be the one that faces lush greens, that is away from the noises and makes a feel-good space for yourself. Try to set a good time for meditation say in the morning when you can see the sunrise or in the evening when you can have a soothing feel of sunset.
Let the Air and Light In- Meditation should always be practiced in an open space. But if you do not have an open area, create the illusion of an open space inside the room. Open all windows. Let the cool breeze brush through your skin while you are into deep thoughts. Let the natural light in.
Paint in Subtle Colors- If you are practicing meditation in bedroom or living room, you cannot change the paint color of the room. But if you have chosen a different room for it, try painting the walls in subtle colors like beige, off white, eggshell, etc. This will enhance the mood for meditation.
Play Soothing Music- Another thing that improves the ambience for meditation is music. Before you start concentrating, play some soothing music. A simple instrumental tone would alone work well.
Light Some Incense and Candles- Smell or aroma also works well for setting the mood for meditating. You can either set a particular fragrance for the room throughout the day or you can do it only at the time of practicing meditation by lighting some incense sticks and scented candles.
Give it a Personal Touch- Add a part of your own self to the decor of the room. If you like simple paintings hang it on the opposite wall so that you can have a look at it when you open your eyes. Bring a small water fountain. Decorate it with stuff that fill you with energy.
