Yamuna Expressway is a 165-kilometres-long stretch that connects Greater Noida with Kanpur and Agra in UP. A six-lane expressway that would later be extended to eight lane up to Lucknow, it’s one of the longest controlled-access expressways in India.
The expressway is well-connected to various amenities in the vicinity, such as hotels, motels, schools, banks and hospitals via an excellent network of railways and roadways. Already, a clutch of schools, namely Patriot Public School, CV International School, John’s Mary School, DS Public School, and Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology have sprung up along the Expressway.
Big hospitals include Yatharth Wellness Hospital & Trauma Centre, NIMT Hospital, Kailash Hospital, Metro Hospital and Heart Institute and Manyawar Kanshiram, which is a multi-Speciality facility.
The nearest railway stations include Kulwa, Mehrawal, Aligarh, Daud Khan and Sonai and the nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport. A second international airport, Taj International Airport at Jewar, which is about 72 kms from Indira Gandhi Airport has got cleared by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
When it finally comes up, it will also generate new employment opportunities for the youth in neighbouring areas, which would also need to price appreciation. According to property watchers property prices have appreciated along Yamuna Expressway by a modest 2.9% in the last two years from Rs 2,669 to Rs 4,112 per sq ft.
This may not appear very exciting in itself, but with the launch of big-ticket realty projects, such as Gaur 2nd Park View, Supertech Holiday Village, Supertech Golf Country Villas, Le Solitairian Group Solitairian City Villa and a slew of others, Yamuna Expressway is likely to emerge as the next, upcoming destination in the NCR.
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has cut and allotted numerous land parcels to a host of reputed builders and developers to build affordable houses, row houses and group-housing societies, along the Expressway.
Future development includes metro line expansion, the construction of a Special Economic Zone, an IT hub etc. A Yamuna Power Generation Company has been established to address the region’s power issue. There is also a proposed 765 KVA Substation of 3000 MW capacity at Jahangirpur, as well as the launch of a new 2,000 MW power plant.
