This was mentioned in a draft notification issued for the same; final notification is expected to come out next week.

The matter was stuck for a long time. Unless the eco-sensitive zone was assigned, the homebuyers could not get possession of their already completed Housing Projects in Noida. As many as 50,000 flats were awaiting approval from the Union Ministry. Several thousand square feet of building and construction area was also stuck under this litigation. After the final notification comes next week, an area of 100 m along the southern, eastern and western border and 1.27 km along the northern border of the bird sanctuary will be marked as eco-sensitive. No infrastructure project can come up around a radius of 10 km of this sanctuary boundary.

Developers like DLF and Jaypee Infratech are still demanding a reduced demarcation of this zone. These developers had projects within the boundary which are completed but are lacking occupancy/completion certificate from the National Green Tribunal. Though a little delayed, the notification will bring relief to thousands of homebuyers as well as to the developers whose projects are stuck in litigation.
