Established more than 35 years ago, the city of Noida was set up to give an urbanization thrust to the rather undeveloped parts of the National Capital Region (NCR). The city evolved as the nerve centre of NCR’s real estate due to rapid infrastructure developments and modernization. Year by year, Noida has been changing only for the better. The year 2015 is also expected to bring significant transitions in the city’s skyline.
Here are a few events Noida is looking forward to in the year 2015:
International Airport at Jewar- Jewar, near Greater Noida, has been finalized as the site for an international airport in NCR. The airport will boost the development of physical as well as social infrastructure and the place would transform from a suburb to an affluent locality. More commercial projects will come up, thus creating the need for residential projects. Properties available at cheaper prices than Gurgaon will attract a number of buyers.
Boom in the Organized Retail Market- Several malls and hypermarkets are expected to be operational in Noida this year. DLF Mall, located in Sector 18, will be operational soon. The Grand Venice Mall will also be opened to public in April. The first of its kind cineplex- Logix City Center- will also be opened this year. It will be a 15 screen cineplex and will offer the first IMAX experience to North India.
Noida-Greater Noida Metro- The residents of Greater Noida have always been complaining about poor connectivity. But now it is time for them to rejoice. The proposal for constructing a metro line to Greater Noida is in the initial stages of approval. Two metro lines have been proposed- one from Noida City Center to Greater Noida; and the other from Noida City Center to Sector 62.
The Bollywood Fever- Year 2015 will see an increase in the number of films being shot in the National Capital Region. Directors prefer NCR because of the high end homes, offices and malls, expressways, etc. Proximity to the historical parts of Delhi is also an added advantage. This would also be helpful for tourism and revenue generation.
Cycle friendly development- Greater Noida and Noida are proposed to be developed as cycle friendly cities in 2015. Master Plan Roads- MP II and MP III- will be developed from Sector 27 to 61 and from Sector 37 to 71 respectively. It is a major move towards reducing pollution and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Other than what the government has planned, the residents of Noida also have a few expectations such as better safety conditions, smoother traffic and a distinct identity from the Delhiites.
