Gwalior,is a metro city in Madhya Pradesh and is being developed as a Counter Magnet city of the National Capital Region (NCR). The city has an impressive historical background and houses some great architectural masterpieces. In the second list of PM Modi’s smart city project, Gwalior has also been nominated. Apart from being a popular tourist destination, the city saw an influx of administrative offices and industrial developments lately. Gwalior is also known as the art capital of India and is a major archaeological site.
Gwalior is well connected to its neighbouring areas via rail and road. The North-South Corridor of the proposed Golden Quadrilateral passes through the city. A thriving network of internal roads connects different parts of the city. NH-3 and NH-75 also pass through the locality. Buses and trains ply to and from the city at frequent intervals. It also has a good social infrastructure consisting of schools, colleges, hospitals, convenience stores, malls & multiplexes and recreational spots. Its flourishing tourism industry attracts a number of people to the city every year.
The economy of Gwalior is mainly driven by industrial hubs and manufacturing units. Textiles, chemical and dairy are the three main functions. The city also hosts trade fairs which are thronged by a lot of people from different parts of the city.
Real estate in Gwalior got a major push after large scale industrial activity and infrastructure development started in full swing. Neoteric, Mantri Group and Satyam Builders are some prestigious developers who have launched their projects in the city. Property prices in Gwalior are affordable as compared to the NCR so that the migration to the latter is in control. The average real estate rate in Gwalior is Rs 3,006 per sq ft.
